Club Membership

Membership entitles players to make court reservations up to two weeks in advance, participate in organized groups and seasonal courts, free use of our fitness facility, play in IRC tournaments, take extended private lessons, maintain an IRC charge account, and receive monthly promotions available exclusively to IRC members.  Guests are welcome to visit the club three times before joining us for a small additional fee.

All annual memberships begin September 13, 2010 and end September 11, 2011 and include access at both club locations (IRC Dean Road & IRC East) as well as a fitness membership (please see corporate membership for exclusion). Memberships are not pro-rated and are not transferable. IRC memberships purchased on or after December 1, 2010 may choose from two options to compensate for time expired. Members may opt to receive free court time coupons or to receive credit towards a coached group. Coupons are not valid on private lessons or special events. Membership is required for all coached groups unless otherwise indicated.

Corporate Memberships (IRC East Club only)

If you have a group of at least 12 coworkers who would like to join IRC, ask us about a Corporate Membership! During the fall/winter season, corporate membership benefits pertain to East Club only. During the spring/summer season, corporate membership privileges are available at both East Club and Dean Road.

For more information, please contact Trudy Gumbel at IRC East, 317.545.2228.

Court Rental & Other Fees

IRC members can reserve a court up to two weeks in advance by phone or in person.  Courts are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  When reserving a court, be prepared to give your name, phone number, and the number of players and guests.  If you wish to cancel a reservation, a minimum 24-hour notice is required.  "No shows" and late cancellations will be charged if the court cannot be re-sold.

Guests
Any player who is not an IRC member is required to pay a guest fee (see “Court Fees”) in addition to the cost of court activities. Non-members are allowed three visits (which include private lessons and/or court rental) and one visit to a coached group as a guest before club membership is required. IRC asks that all guests using our facility register at the front desk prior to facility use.
Adults $8.00 per person per visit plus court fees
Juniors $4.00 per person per visit plus court fees

Walk-on Players

Walk-on privileges are based on court availability and allow a player the use of a court at a nominal fee without an advanced reservation (see "Walk-On Fees").  Initial walk-on privileges are for a one hour period of use; continued use is based on court availability. Walk-on is available to juniors (members and non-members) at both IRC Dean and IRC East Club. Walk-on is available to adults at IRC East only.

If a junior player is accompanied by an adult member, the junior will be charged a $4 junior walk-on fee and the adult will be responsible for half of the hourly court rate. The same policy applies for non-members with the addition of guest fees.

Mandatory check-in at the front desk and payments are required before going on court.

Ball Machine
Ball machines are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no extra charge for the use of a ball machine (if available), with the exception of East Club adult walk-ons (see “Walk-On players”). To ensure the safety of players, first time ball machine users must receive assistance from an IRC staff member. Ball machine requests must be made when making a court reservation.

Visiting Tournament Players
Non-member tournament players may reserve a court for practice up to one day prior to the start of a tournament.  The following rules apply for tournament players when reserving court time:
  • Each player must pay the hourly court fees.
  • Guest fees are waived.
  • Non-members are required to make payment at the time of making a reservation.
  • No refunds will be given.

Fitness Center Fees
Members Free (must be at least 18 years of age to access the Fitness Center)
Non-members $18.00 fee per person per visit

Seasonal Courts

IRC members may reserve a court on a permanent basis for the entire fall/winter season. Benefits of reserving seasonal court time include:

• Guaranteed court at the same time each week.
• Court cost discount of $1/court/hour.
• Include a teaching pro on court (optional).

All seasonal court players must be IRC members. If a substitute is needed, non-members are eligible to play but must check-in at the front desk and pay an $8 guest fee. IRC will provide one complimentary guest pass for each member who is part of a seasonal court. The same guest may play up to three times before an IRC membership is required.

Seasonal court players must commit to the entire fall/winter season in order to be eligible for the court fee discount. If a player is injured, moving, or otherwise unable to play, it is the player’s financial responsibility to find a replacement.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a seasonal court. Seasonal courts will be billed one time at the start of the season. Any changes to player rosters must be made by the court captain. Changes to the court may result in a $10 fee charged to the player. Seasonal court players are responsible for providing their own tennis balls, but have the option of purchasing balls at a discounted rate to be provided at the time of play.

All seasonal courts are subject to temporary change due to prior IRC tournament commitments. Credits will not be given for missed days unless the club is closed.

Payments

All IRC members are invoiced the first day of each month for charges incurred during the previous month. Member accounts must be kept current. Any account with a 60 day balance will be frozen and both charging and playing privileges will be suspended until the balance is paid in full.*

* Exception: Summer charges (June-August) may not be carried 60 days. Charges must be paid monthly.

All IRC accounts must be paid in full by August 31, 2010 in order for membership to be renewed. All charges incurred during the fall/winter season must be paid prior to April 30, 2011.

COACHED GROUP BILLING
All season-long coached groups are billed once during each of the fall and winter seasons. The IRC Fall Season begins September 13, 2010 and ends December 31, 2010. The IRC Winter Season begins January 1, 2011 and ends May 15, 2011. If play is started in the middle of either season, players will be billed in the month in which play began for the remainder of that season. This policy excludes seasonal courts, private groups, special events, and all pay-as-you-play groups.

A $25.00 cancellation fee may be assessed for the cancellation of enrollment in a coached group prior to March 1, 2011. Please note that credits for dropped classes will be given as of the date you contact the Member Services Office. It is the player’s responsibility to contact the Member Services Office in regards to changes in play.
To protect the integrity of our groups, no credits will be issued for the cancellation of coached group enrollment after March 1, 2011 with the exception of IHSAA-authorized high school girl tennis players.

Credits will not be given for absences. Make-up classes may be scheduled with your teaching professional at their discretion and may only be done in groups which are age and/or skill appropriate that have available space. Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
