Membership Advantages

  • Largest Indoor Tennis Facility in the State  Established in 1965, IRC on Dean Road was Indiana's first indoor tennis club.  We have two clubs consisting of 24 indoor courts with ball machines free with court rental at both clubs.  IRC is the former home of the U.S. National Clay Court Championships, Virginia Slims of Indianapolis, the National Boys 12 and under, and the National Women's 65 and over tournaments.



  • Extensive Adult Programs for All Ages and Skill Levels Over 50 USTA Summer Adult League teams are offered at IRC, along with winter league/match play, USA Tennis I, II, III for beginners and re-entry players, private or group lessons, playing group/clinics, tournament play, Fast League for 5.0 players, mixed doubles groups, and more.



  • Nationally Recognized Competitive Junior Players Program IRC's Competitive Junior Player's Program is the best in the Midwest, with intensive long-term training mixed with Midwest tournaments.  IRC offers coordinated tournament travel and is home to over 85 juniors with Midwest rankings  and over 15 juniors with National rankings.  Continuity of training is available year round.

  • Extensive Junior Programs for All Ages and Skill Levels  IRC offers group lessons/clinics for beginners, intermediates, advanced, competitive tournament players and ranked players.  We offer private lessons, lessons for tots, junior/teen pizza parties, tournament play, and more.



  • A Top Ten Pro Shop of the Year  Voted by the Tennis Industry Association as a Top 10 Tennis Retailer, the pro shop at IRC has over 3300 square feet of the best tennis gear making it the largest pro/specialty tennis retailer attached to a tennis facility in the country.  IRC employs a knowledgeable selling staff and an expert staff of racquet stringers.  Open to the public seven days a week, the pro shop is stocked with a wide selection of tennis apparel, racquets, shoes, and accessories from all the best tennis specific manufacturers.  Other pro shop programs include adult and school team discounts, numerous demo racquets, a special ordering service, competitive pricing policy, and frequent stringer program.  In addition, IRC Team Sports, a division of the IRC Pro Shops, is the tennis source to over 1000 colleges/universities, high schools, and middle schools across the country.   (More on IRC's Pro Shop.)



  • USTA, District, and Sectional Tournaments Host to approximately 25 sanctioned professionally run tournaments per year, IRC runs more tournaments than any other facility in Indiana.  Our highly competent and organized staff are committed to excellence through competition for both juniors and adults.



  • Fitness Center IRC's fitness center offers personal training, stretch and tone classes, cardiovascular machines, free weights, and treadmills. Fitness membership is now free with tennis membership at IRC (More on IRC Fitness Center).



  • Corporate Memberships Companies have the option of purchasing a membership for up to 12 employees at a reduced membership rate.  Corporate memberships are available at our IRC East Club location only. (More on Corporate Memberships.)



  • Seasonal Courts Reserve a court on a permanent basis for the fall/winter season with discounted court time.  Choose to have an IRC teaching pro on your court.  Tennis balls are available at a reduced rate if needed.



  • Supervised Quality Childcare IRC's Dean Road location offers childcare Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Summer), for ages 12 months and older.  Our bright child-safe babysitting facility, with experienced staff, is available while you play tennis.  Reservations are not required and we offer a low-cost hourly rate per child.



  • Private Tennis Parties Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or plan just plain fun parties for your tennis-playing adult friends and/or children.  Demo Racquets are available for use during on court activities.  The Party Room is also available before, after, and/or during your tennis party.   • Mixed Doubles Parties Fun mixed doubles parties are offered at least once a month on Saturdays, New Year's Eve, and more at IRC.  (View Mixed Doubles schedule.)

Club Membership

   Membership entitles players to make court reservations up to two weeks in advance, participate in organized groups and seasonal courts, free use of our fitness facility, play in IRC tournaments, take extended private lessons, maintain an IRC charge account, and receive monthly promotions available exclusively to IRC members.  Guests are welcome to visit the club three times before joining us for a small additional fee.

   Tennis memberships are not pro-rated.  All memberships are yearly and in effect from the beginning of the Fall/Winter season until the beginning of the next Fall/Winter season and include use of both facilities.  Memberships are not pro-rated.  If you purchase a club membership on or after December 1st, you are given two options to compensate for time expired.  You may opt to receive free court time coupons or to receive a credit toward coached groups and/or private lessons.

Corporate Memberships (IRC East Club only)

   If you have a group of at least 12 co-workers who would like to join IRC, ask about Corporate Memberships.  During the Fall/Winter season, corporate membership benefits pertain to IRC East Club and allow the member to reserve court time, including seasonal courts.  During the summer season, corporate membership privileges are available at both East Club and Dean Road.

Court Rental & Other Fees

  IRC members can reserve a court up to two weeks in advance by phone or in person.  Courts are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  When reserving a court, be prepared to give your name, phone number, and the number of players and guests.  If you wish to cancel a reservation, a minimum 24-hour notice is required.  "No shows" and late cancellations will be charged if the court cannot be re-sold.

Guests
Any player who is not at IRC member is required to pay a guest fee in addition to the hourly court rate.  Non-members are allowed three visits as a guest before club membership is required.

Walk-on Players
Walk-on privileges are based on court availability and allow a player the use of a court at a nominal fee without an advanced reservation.  Walk-on is for a one-hour period of usage; continued use is based on court availability.  Mandatory check-in at the front desk and payment are required before going on the court.

*Adult walk-on available only at East Club 8-9 am and 3-4 pm Monday through Friday.  There is a $5.00 fee for the use of a ball machine for adult walk-on players.

Ball Machine
Ball Machines are available for use on a first-come first-served basis.  There is no extra charge for the use of a ball machine, with the exception of East Club adult walk-ons.  To ensure the safety of players, first-time ball machine users MUST receive assistance from an IRC staff member.  Please request a ball machine at the time of making a court reservation.

Tournament Players
Non-member tournament players may reserve a court for practice up to one day prior to the start of a tournament.  The following rules apply for tournament players when reserving court time:
  • Each player must pay the hourly court fees.

  • Guest fees are waived.

  • If the player is a non-member, payment must be given at the time of making the reservation.

  • Players still in the draw may warm-up on an empty court without a charge only if the player is at his/her match site and is scheduled to play that same day.

Payments

   Group fees are due upon registration.  If your IRC club account is in good standing, you will be billed for the group and 50% of the balance will be due 25 days after first billing.  The remainder is due by January 25, 2009.  All IRC members are invoiced on the first of each month.  IRC accepts Discover, VISA, or Master Card for account payments.  Checks are accepted from IRC members only.
