Tennis Industry Association announces Top 10 Pro Shops in America

The Indianapolis Racquet Club is chosen as a 2004 Top Pro Shop

The Tennis Industry Association (TIA) recently announced the award for the top tennis pro shops in the country.  The Indianapolis Racquet Club Pro Shop was selected in a poll by representatives of the top racquet, ball, and soft goods manufacturers and associations earlier this year.  This is the first time the TIA is honoring pro shops with this distinction.  Selection criteria included technical expertise and product knowledge, merchandising excellence, how frequently they "give back" to the sport, teamwork with suppliers and whether the retailer is the "go to" shop when it comes to tennis in their area.

"We're pleased to honor the pro shops who are not only doing a fantastic job with their own businesses, but also are helping this sport to grow," says TIA President Jim Baugh.  "The response time from the industry about these awards has been huge."

The Indianapolis Racquet Club (IRC), established in 1965 and former home of the U.S. National Clay Court Championships, is celebrating over 40 years of tennis excellence.  With two facilities and 24 indoor, IRC serves approximately 2400 members including over 800 juniors, many of which participate in the club's nationally recognized junior tournament players program.  The Indianapolis Racquet Club Pro Shop has become known as the Midwest's finest full-service tennis outfitter.

Each IRC facility houses a tennis pro shop, with their flagship location on Dean Road comprising over 2500 square feet of the latest tennis gear and equipment.  Open to the public seven days a week, the IRC Pro Shops offers expert stringing, a frequent stringer program, adult and school team discounts, special ordering service, a wide selection of court equipment and apparel, demo racquets, a competitive pricing policy, and much more.

In addition, the IRC Pro Shop is the official retail sponsor of the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association (IHSTeCA) and is the tennis source to over 400 college, high school, and middle school tennis programs across the country.
